Follow up on the Intersession Data – Rudy Tjiptahadi Rudy provided data to respond to our additional questions: 1. 2. 3. What were the GPA and cumulative units for Intersession 2014 compared to spring 2014? There wasn’t much difference in cumulative units but the GPA was higher. It was noted that students only take one class during intersession compared to more in the spring. What is the comparison of spring 2014 performance between new students in Intersession 2014 & new students in spring 2014? The new students in Intersession performed slightly worse than new students in spring 2014. On average, what % of the students are placed or taking a below college level course for regular term in comparison to those students who were either enrolled or placed into a below college course taking intersession? 18% of the students attending intersession had taken or were placed in a basic skills course. When students come to SCC, their test results from other colleges follow them. The following question for data was suggested and was given to Rudy to process: When comparing Intersession and spring, only look at the courses offered in spring that are the same as those offered in Intersession. Rudy will review data shared since it had been adjusted from original draft. 4. Continue discussion of EMC Table of Contents - All SUGGESTED FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS The members broke into groups to further discuss the Table of Contents recommendations.
