Review Agenda/action items.
Add Board meeting debrief.
Phase II budget reductions were discussed at length. The Board vote was 3/2; it is
unclear whether that simple majority of the quorum carries the vote or whether a
majority of the board is needed. That is being researched today. As a result,
layoff notices will not be distributed today. The formality of action items and the
openness, candor and informality in addressing the board was noted.
Trustee Stonebloom announced her resignation.
II.
Accreditation/Program Planning
Dan distributed the updated IT Strategic Plan. These changes will go to the Tech
committee on Thursday.
Accreditation narratives first drafts are due tomorrow, second draft due July 1.
Administrative Services is in the hot seat because program reviews have not been
completed.
Administrative Unit Outcomes (AUOs) are required. There have been different
interpretations of what should be included in these outcomes. IT’s program
review is the test case; the outline of how AUOs are viewed is a little more clear
than info from the past.
Objectives: Maximum of three self-identified goals.
The accreditation retreat this Thursday, 5/10 from 8:30-12:00 will be time to work
on program reviews as was 4/30/12.
III.
Budget Planning/Negotiations
2012-13 Preliminary Budget is nearly complete and will go to the board in June.
May revise will be released 5/14/12. Planning parameters will be updated after this.
Property taxes are down $2 billion. Victoria hopes to get a sense of what that will
look like for us. November Tax proposal will be planned; if it fails there will be a
mid-year cut. The question is how big is the gap and when the reductions will be
rolled out.

CCEU negotiations are being held Thursday and Friday. Newsletters sent out after
each session reflect what was discussed. The balance of proposals will be rolled out
this week and a plan to address the shortfall. Each group will be assigned how to
reduce their group by percentages.
Faculty negotiations be held 5/24, 5/29 and 6/1. They will also be asked for
concessions.
Benefits rates will be known today. It is hopeful they will be better than anticipated.
IV.

project cannot be opened without closing the first
