For Immediate Release – Lawton, OK, Oct. 27, 2005 Cameron University art professor selected for national, state exhibits; wins third place Cameron University art professor Katherine Liontas-Warren recently had two of her works selected for exhibition. Liontas-Warren’s piece “Awakened Boulders” was one of 40 selections chosen from a field of more than 200 entries to be apart of the 2005 Delta National Small Prints Exhibition, which is currently underway at Arkansas State University’s Bradbury Gallery. Lloyd Mendard, professor emeritus from the University of South Dakota, served as juror for the exhibition, which concludes on Nov. 18. Another of Liontas-Warren’s work, “Winter Forest,” was selected to be apart of the Seven State Biennial III Exhibition, held at the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma Art Gallery. More than 240 pieces from 83 artists were entered for consideration into the exhibition and only 36 were chosen. Laura Warriner, Gallery Director of the Untitled Gallery in Oklahoma City, was juror for the exhibition and awarded Liontas-Warren’s piece third overall and a $500 prize. Liontas-Warren has been teaching drawing and printmaking at Cameron since 1984.
