THE SPACE: An acquaintance with the gallery’s physical space is relevant in that these spatial parameters present certain challenges for exhibitions, for community educational programs, and for fundraising, as well as for the natural growth of the permanent collection. For instance, the potential for a gift shop, an art rental space, workshop space, an exhibition preparation/dismantling /conservation areas are limited within the existing gallery space. There is nothing to say that such activities could not occur in satellite spaces. The gallery is housed within the architecturally significant Municipal Town Offices, built in 2007 overlooking Lake Temiskaming. The gallery occupies ____% of the total municipal space. Board meetings are often conducted in Council’s beautiful boardroom. Receptions may spill out into the spectacular Municipal foyer.
