Cameron’s Criminal Justice Association,

Lawton Police Department set safety day

Cameron University’s Criminal Justice Association, in partnership with the Lawton Police Department, will be hosting “Women and Children Safety Day.”

All family members can benefit from “Women and Children Safety Day,” which will be held from 10 a.m. to

5 p.m. Saturday, October 15, at the Wal-Mart on Sheridan Road in Lawton. The event is free and open to the public.

“This day will be a great opportunity for parents to have identification cards made for their children,” said

Carlo LaMonica, President of the Criminal Justice Association. “These identification cards are always a good thing to have to help police in case of an emergency situation.”

The CJ Association members will be taking pictures, fingerprinting, weighing, and measuring the height of each child, and this information will be placed on each identification card. Members will also be passing out safety tips for women and children, warning of the potential dangers of the upcoming Halloween holiday.
