Please return all library books to school today. Friday 2/5 100 t h Day of School! Valentine’s Day Looking ahead to February, I want to let you know some important things about Valentine’s Day. th Friday, February 12 will be our Kindergarten Valentine’s Day Card Exchange. SCE does not have a big party for Valentine’s Day like we do for the Harvest and Winter Parties. The kids and I will decorate Valentine’s boxes, exchange cards, and have a snack/drink. Here is what you need to know: 1) Please send your child to school with a shoebox wrapped in plain paper. We will be decorating these boxes here at school as part of th our activities on the 12 . The box should either be able to open at the top or have a hole cut into it so the kids can put cards inside. 2) If your child is bringing Valentines to pass out, he or she needs to have one for everyone in the class. There are 24 children in the AM class. There are 23 children in the PM class. There is no need to write individual student’s names on the cards; your child can just sign his or her name so friends will know whom it is from. This year, we are requesting that no cards come in with any edible treat. If you would like to send in supplies (i.e. stickers, doilies, etc) that the students can use to decorate their boxes that would be much appreciated! Feel free to send the supplies in anytime during the next two weeks. I will save everything that is donated and all of the children can share the donated supplies to decorate their boxes on the th 12 . Thank you! January 29, 2016 100 th Day of School! The 100th day of a school is a big deal in kindergarten! We will be writing about what we could buy with $100, doing 100 exercises, playing a new math game with the number 100, and more. The 100th day of school is Friday, February 5 th . Each child needs to bring in 100 small objects from home on February 5 th . Be as creative as you want and have your child help to count the items as he or she prepares to bring them to school. We have been working hard on counting to 100 by 10s and by 5s, so putting the items in groups to count would be a great strategy. I encourage you to do this with your child, not for your child. J Not sure what to bring? Suggestions include: buttons, pasta, rice, coins, popsicle sticks, safety pins, rubber bands, cheerios, rocks, etc. Please write your child’s name on his or her bag. Thank you for your help! We are 100 days smarter, and that is a lot to celebrate! J
