We wrote our ‘weekend news’. We greeted classmates, said
the pledge of allegiance, said our class promise and did
calendar. We sang our ‘Days’ and ‘Months’ songs,
subitized to 1-12 dots, read our popcorn words, did our
ABC chart, sang our vowel song and reviewed our habits of
thinkers. We practiced for our program. We learned our new
popcorn word ‘they’ and did rainbow writing of it. We were
introduced to our new poem ‘Three Little Kittens’. We
watered our bean plants in the courtyard. The AM class
voted to read Mickey and Goofy’s Race Around the World
and the PM class chose to read Hot Air Henry. We made
our own hot air balloons. We graphed whether we have ever
been in a hot air balloon. We did literacy workshop. We
collaborated to make all of the combinations of seven with
unifix cubes.
We did our packets. We then greeted friends,
sang My Country ‘Tis of Thee, said our class
promise and did calendar. We counted to 100 by
ones and read our popcorn words. We did our
ABC charts with digraphs and reviewed the habits
of thinkers. We practiced for our program. Our PM
kindergartner of the week shared his poster and
science image and we wrote a sentence about
him using interactive writing. We did speedwriting
of our popcorn word. We made thank you posters
for our school secretaries. We did shared reading
and read Flying by Donald Crews and watered our
bean plants in the courtyard. We did literacy
workshop. We had recess. We found all of the
combinations of eight with unifix cubes.

for our program. We reviewed the habits of
thinkers. Our PM kindergartner of the week
brought something for us to estimate and we
wrote a sentence about him using interactive
writing. We sequenced the lines of our poem. We
did shared reading, watered our bean plants and
read Zoom! Zoom! Zoom! I Am Off to the Moon!
in the courtyard. We did literacy workshop. We
had recess. We worked in teams to find all of the
combinations of nine using unifix cubes.
We did the Thursday page of our packet, greeted
classmates, sang ‘America the Beautiful’, said our class
promise and did calendar. We counted backwards
from 20, subitized ten frames and read our popcorn
words. We did our blend cards and reviewed habits of
thinkers. We practiced for our program. Our AM
kindergartner of the week shared her poster. The PM
student shared something for social studies. We wrote
sentences about both using interactive writing. Then
we wrote individual sentences about him/her. We did
shared reading. We watered our bean plants and read
On the Road. We did Literacy Workshop. We read,
highlighted the popcorn words in and illustrated our
poem. We had recess. We collaborated in groups to
build eleven different combinations of ten using two
colors of unifix cubes.
Friday
We did the Friday page of our packet, greeted each other, said the pledge of allegiance and our class pledge and did calendar. We counted on from three different numbers, read our popcorn words, reviewed our habits of thinkers and practiced for our program. The AM class had Family Friday. The PM class had literacy workshop. Dear Parents,
Upcoming Dates:
May 2nd - Transportation Parade – I can’t wait to see their creations!
May 4th – All kindergartners eat lunch at school.
May 11th – Kindergarten Program 7 p.m.- Feel free to invite friends and
relatives. All students are asked to participate. Students are asked to arrive
at 6:50. We ask that they ‘dress up’, without purchasing anything new. The
‘performance’, in the gym, will last approximately 20 minutes and will be
followed by refreshments in the commons. The students have been working
hard and are getting excited to entertain you!
Thanks to our volunteer this week: Mr. Combs.
Have an amazing weekend!
