This form is to be submitted as an appendix in your program review each fiscal year and a copy should be forwarded to the classified prioritization chair. For positions requested outside the program review cycle (e.g., retirements, resignations, grant/categorical funded positions), this form should be submitted to the classified prioritization chair and will be used for information/tracking purposes. Justification:

Why is this position necessary?

This position was originally frozen because of budget cuts, and with the college now expanding, the position is greatly needed. This position will help facilitate with the growth and increase amount of

FTE of the college. Because of the increasing course offerings, faculty hires, new programs, and curriculum changes throughout the college this position is very important to the college as a whole.

The position would be assisting in class scheduling, prerequisite processing, curriculum changes, working with deans of the Division offices as well as HR and payroll.

What educational programs or institutional purposes does this position support? How does the request relate specifically to your Program Review, the College’s Strategic Plan, and/or Accreditation Recommendations?

This position supports the academic division deans offices to input schedules, faculty loads. Make faculty load adjustments, input course schedules, attendance methods and catalog changes. Works in collaboration with HR & Payroll around instructor's assignments.

Where will the individual work? To whom will the person report? Are there any special equipment/facilities needs to be considered?

This individual will work in the Office of Academic Services and reports to the Vice President of

Academic Services. This position will require a desktop computer.

What is the consequence of not funding this position?

The added work will be burdensome on our current two Curriculum & Scheduling Specialist, with overtime hours having to complete task in a timely manner.

What alternative approaches have been considered in meeting the programmatic demands of this request?

How will the campus community (students, staff, faculty, and community) be positively impacted by filling this position?

The campus community will better be served with appointments letters, load sheets, email questions and answers in a faster turn around period, as well as being able to better assist the Division offices,

HR & payroll as the liaison between the campus and or District Offices.
