Action on Minutes
Minutes from the Sixth Meeting, January 20, 2015, were approved.
March 3 Meeting
It was announced that Ed Klonoski, Bob Schneider, and Terry Bishop will attend the next
College Curriculum Committee meeting for an update on PLUS and to brainstorm ways in
which the college can be more involved in the new General Education curriculum.
Also to be included on the agenda for the next meeting is a discussion on data analytics.
Evaluation of
UBUS 311
Discussion continued from the last meeting regarding the review of UBUS 311. Prior to this
meeting, committee members were supplied background materials related to the course.
Each member reported on the discussion held within their department. Favorable comments
were given relative to the course content; however, concerns were expressed with regard to
the heavy course work load. It was recommended that a survey of students be conducted to
find out how much time students are taking outside class on their UBUS 311 assignments.
After further discussion, the committee approved the following: In consultation with
Management faculty who have expertise in this area, UBUS 311 shall incorporate more
formal instruction on team leadership skill development, including a focus on team
dynamics, team communication, and team conflict management. To make room for this
instruction in UBUS 311, the current discussion on corporate culture shall be shifted to the
UBUS 310 course. The UBUS 311 team leaders and UBUS 310 coordinator will report back
to the College Curriculum Committee at the end of the Fall 2015 semester with an update on
how this was accomplished.
