Minutes for Meeting of February 9, 2009
A scheduled meeting of ASCAP was held on Monday, February 9 at 3:00 p.m. in Holden Hall 129.
Committee members present were: Ken Baake, Jim Clopton, Greg Gellene, Ram Iyer, Jerry Koch, Nicole
McKenna, Anthony Qualin, and David Roach. Presenters were: Jeremy Mason (Chemistry and
Biochemistry), and Kent Pearce and Alex Trindade (Mathematics and Statistics).
1. The committee voted to recommend to the next level of consideration the following course proposal
from the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry:
• Add CHEM 1101 Chemistry Bridge Course.
2. The committee voted to recommend to the next level of consideration the following proposals from the
Department of Mathematics and Statistics:
• Add MATH 2356 Quantitative Theory of Interest.
• Proposal for an Interdisciplinary Minor in Actuarial Studies.
The next regularly scheduled meeting of ASCAP is scheduled for Monday, March 9, for proposals that
reach the committee and the Dean’s office by Monday, March 2.
