ST. IGNATIUS – Opportunities for participation continue
throughout the summer months. The 5:30 pm Contemporary Ensemble rehearses at 4:30
pm on Sundays in the church. All singers and instrumentalists are invited to participate.
We have been hoping for a percussionist – we have the instruments! Also, the bi-monthly Spanish liturgy
music group meets at 11:15 am in the Lannon Chapel on the Sundays when there is a 12:00 pm Spanish
liturgy. Please contact Michael Burgo for more information: burgo@bc.edu or 617-552-6108.
DO YOU PLAY THE BASS GUITAR? – The parish has acquired a good instrument, and we are looking
for someone to play it at our twice monthly Spanish Mass at Noon. The music is fun and not too difficult.

OUTREACH MINISTRIES
ON-GOING COLLECTIONS: Our on-going collections help The Family Van, Shattuck
Shelter and Mother Caroline Academy and Education Center. Donations can be left in the
hampers that are at either side front entrance of the upper church. The list of wishedfor items is on the large bulletin board in the church entrance. And, we’re continuing our
collection of used books for Interfaith Counseling Service. The blue collection bin is in
the Gathering Space. PLEASE NOTE: School’s out! So, we’ve suspended our collection
of snacks and lunch foods for Mother Caroline Academy until late August.
COMING: Summer is here and we’re planning for the Saturday, July 21st
cookout for the Guests at Shattuck Shelter. Sign-up sheets for donations and
volunteering and a box for cash donations (since we purchase many items in
bulk) are available, on the table in the Gathering Space, beginning this weekend
and continuing until July 15th.
ALSO COMING: Our annual back-to-school items drive - August
25th/26th. This year we hope to be able to provide both Julie’s
Family Learning Program, South Boston, and Mother Caroline
Academy, Dorchester, with back-to-school basics like backpacks,
pens, pencils, paper, notebooks and the like. Sales will start soon, so
we thought you’d like to know so you can plan ahead! Also, we’ll be
accepting cash donations to send to St. Anne’s in Kingston, Jamaica, to help them out with
back-to-school expenses.

use the parish address, ignatius@bc.edu, and note, with your name, that this is a new address or
