Because of your generosity, we are at 60% of our goal. Your support is deeply appreciated by Cardinal Sean and by all who benefit from the fifty ministries made possible by the Appeal. We need everyone’s help. If you have yet to make a pledge, we ask you to prayerfully consider how you can help. The Appeal Pledge forms are available at the back of the Church. BOOK DISCUSSION On June 22nd, in the living room of the parish offices, there will be a discussion of the book The December Project by Sara Davidson. Publishers Weekly describes this work as the fruit of a series of weekly conversations conducted over two years between the 60-something journalist Davidson and the pioneering rabbi, Zalman Schachter-Shalomi. Besides touching on topics like aging well, facing mortality, and dying, Davidson provides a biographical sketch of Schacter-Shalomi from his narrow escape from the Holocaust to his encounters with Thomas Merton. Please join us at 11:15 on June 22nd for a discussion of this interesting work. CONCERT THIS SUNDAY, JUNE 1ST Katherine Jillson, Soprano and James Myers, Piano, will perform a collection of songs by Samuel Barber this Sunday June 1st at 2:30 in the Upper Church. Free and open to all - a reception will follow in the Friary Room. THE SPIRITUAL EXERCISES OF ST. IGNATIUS The Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius (19th Annotation Retreat) will be offered next year as a "retreat in daily life". This journey of prayer continues over thirty weeks beginning on October 5, 2014 and concluding in May, 2015. This experience involves daily prayer, meetings with a spiritual director, and bimonthly communal gatherings with faith-sharing. If you are interested in serving on the PPC or know someone else who might be interested, please contact Tim D’Souza, tim.dsouza@hotmail.com or Brian Maher, maher@bchigh.edu. The PPC is an advisory body to the Pastor and has as its primary focus assisting the Pastor in planning for the future of the parish. Updating and monitoring the implementation of the Parish Pastoral Plan is one of the major functions of the Council, in addition to specific planning initiatives. The PPC aims to be broadly representative of the parish in its composition. We especially invite young adults (ages 22-40) to consider serving on the Council. SAINT.
