Once again we invite you to consider joining our Book Discussion Group that will be hosted by Frs. Bob and J.A. at the Jesuit residence (130 Beacon Street). We meet on Wednesday evenings from 7: 30 – 9:00
P.M. starting on March 4th and ending on April 22nd.
There are two weeks when we will not meet
(March 11 th
and April 1 st
). The book we have chosen is a marvelous new one by Professor Amy-Jill Levine called Short Stories by Jesus: The Enigmatic Parables of a Controversial Rabbi (N. Y.: Harper Collins,
2014).
The author is University Professor of New Testament and Jewish Studies at Vanderbilt Divinity
School. She describes herself as “a Yankee, Jewish feminist who teaches in a predominantly Christian divinity school in the buckle of the Bible belt.” Reviewers have called the book “brilliant,” one to
“change how you think about Jesus and the stories he told,” and one that “belongs next to your bible.” It should be a great read and discussion. The book is be available in selected bookstores and on
Amazon.com.
Space, as always, is limited. Please indicate your desire to join us by contacting Betty in the office at Ignatius@bc.edu or through 617-552-6102 as soon as possible. Any questions? Feel free to contact either Fr. Bob or Fr. J.A.

More than 70 percent of farmers in Tanzania work on plots of land smaller than three acres.
In the United States, the average farm size is 441 acres. Soybeans are used to make poultry feed, which is in high demand in Tanzania, where the poultry industry is growing rapidly. A domestic soybean industry is attractive to poultry feed manufacturers, who, by buying from organized groups, are able to produce a higher quality product for less money than they would be able to with imported soybeans or feed made from fish. CRS works with 11,250 soybean farmers in Tanzania through Soy ni Pesa, increasing their harvest and connecting them with marketing groups.

Queridos Parroquianos,
íntimamente a Nuestro Salvador, Jesucristo.
Padre Bob
