(John/Becky) Introductions of new faculty members

(Bret) Topic: Minutes approval… Call for approval. Motion to approve
(Tracy). Approved.
6:38 – 6:45
(Mary) Topic: Benefit Fund Summary... February: $36,126.29 balance.
Notables contributed include… Koch $5,000. Tournament of Roses balance
at this time… $15,033.19. (John) reached out to the bank and they agreed to
remove the fees associated with multiple deposits. (Becky) Scholarships
$4,432 available to give. Typically Site Council offers 2 $500 scholarships may add more.
6:45 – 7:04
(Becky) Topic: Six Year Plan… Introduced Jennifer Boldus (Counselor).
She discussed six year plan from middle to high school. Our plan will be
based on the Minneapolis public schools and their six year plan. Delivery
piece that will be used by the Counselors - Family Connection. College
tracking for submission which shows how many RHS student applied to
certain colleges. The “new piece” is called "My Planner" which contains;
Goals, To Do Lists, Tasks Assignment device to help them organize their
priorities. Students are introduced into this system in 10th Grade. (John)
Open House will be the event to introduce this idea. (Jennifer) There will be
Counselor presentations to encourage this discipline. (Becky) How is this
accessed? (Jennifer) From the Guidance link/Family Connection on the RHS
website.
7:04– 7:05
(Tracy) Topic: Parent Leaders Report…Tracy will be taking over for Michelle
with the Parent Leaders Meeting Report. Michelle needed to discontinue her
role as representative. No report this week.
7:05– 7:08
(Allison) Topic: Student Council Report... $6 from fund spent for Student
sing off. Recently elected Pres/Vice Pres. (Andre/Emily). Friday is Teacher
Appreciation Day for the Student Council.
7:08 – 7:20
(John) Topic: South Suburban Conf. changes... The two Bloomington
schools are ‘officially’ not leaving however, they will eventually leave our
conference. Farmington has been voted in; Shakopee is still in question –
Rosemount has some concerns about Shakopee’s membership. However,
Rosemount will eventually support the rest of the schools in the SSC.

(John) Topic: SHIP (Parent Survey results)…Still waiting for District to adopt
the new policy. Nothing new to report.
7:21– 7:28
(John) Topic: T1 Stats… (Comment- T2 Report cards available in a week or
two.) Absences per student per year have improved for the most part - slight
increases with Juniors and Seniors. Tardiness numbers are down and they
have been falling every year. Regarding the number of fails- Flex Days are
making an impact. The %age of students with a failing grade has gone down
over the past couple years.
7:28 – 7:32
(John) Topic: Personnel Updates… Mr. Roback is leaving for Bangkok
Thailand for 2 years. He says that he will be coming back in two years.
However, his position has been posted.
7:32 – 7:47
(John) Topic: Enrollment…Administrators are currently in sectioning
meetings with dept. chairs determining numbers of sections for next year.
While no budget cuts are anticipated for next year, enrollment is expected to
fall to just under 2000 students. Reasons for enrollment decline were
discussed.
7:47 – 7:49
(John) Topic: Advertisement… Expected to launch next Monday. Buttons at
the top. Advertise with us on the side. Ryan Harrison closing in on his first
customer. Logos will refresh each time you visit the site.
7:49 – 7:57
(John) Topic: Open Discussion…Traffic concerns at Hwy. 3 were brought
up. In 2015, an actual traffic light is scheduled to go in front of the school
entrance. (John) Will be calling city to follow up on this news. Tony Tashner
asked to bring this discussion topic to Site Council - "How to Lobby your
Congressman." Volunteers asked to attend – Becky and Bret committed.
(Jeanine) Packed food for Rosemount One - Feed My Starving Children Packed 285,150 meals. Pastor Goodwynn from Lighthouse to go to
Dominican Republic. A lot of volunteers helped out including Honor Society.
7:57 – 8:05
(Becky) Site Council voted no how to use fund raised dollars for students.
Voting for Fundraising breakdown - $3,650 cost that we have aligning with
voting right now. $3,400 available now (excluding Internet for stadium).

(Tracy) Motion to spend now... (second Jeanine). (Becky) Suggests Low and
Med costs - to act on them now @ $1,650. Larger cost items. (Mock Car
Crash) (Jim) “Any amount to defray costs would be helpful.” We will
reconvene at a later time in order to discuss what the final costs will be.
