IRB Report
• The IRB policy is moving through the CPRC.
HLC Committee Report
Our compliance and assurance draft is completed and available for review. Kristy can email it to
those requesting it. The deadline for submission is Oct. 16th. Our visit is November 16-17, 2015.
o The next HLC Steering committee meeting is the April 21st .
Survey Reports
• CCSSE (Community College Survey of Student Engagement)/CCFSSE (Faculty survey)
o The randomly selected faculty have been communicated with. All survey materials have
been sent to them. The survey needs to be administered by the 24th of April. There were 84
classes selected. Sixty one classes have been returned. Melissa sent an email reminder to
those who hadn’t completed the survey. The deans were asked for support in getting more
classes completed.
o The CCFSSE is the faculty companion to CCSSE and is available now online. It was sent via
email from CCSSE February 23rd. Faculty teaching the following classes will be excluded:
non-credit, dual-credit, distance education, lowest level ESL, labs, individual instruction and
independent study, self-paced with no regular meeting time/location. An email reminder
went to non-responders March 23rd. The response rate currently is 30% (205/688). Email
reminders will be sent to non-responders April 13th and April 27th. The deadline is May 13th.
o FAQ’s have been written and are located on the Assessment website.

MCC Open Pathway Improvement Project Report
• There have been 17, 188 students assessed in 789 course sections across 24 general education
disciplines. A high percentage of full-time faculty have participated (93%).
• Fall 2014 data analysis is ongoing. Spring class rosters are being sent out for data input.
• Discipline review presentations to the officers have been scheduled. (PV CC 503)

Higher Learning Commission Update
• The MCC Summer Symposium is July 17th, 2015 at Penn Valley, EC19.
o The format will include interactive games: Assessment Family Feud and HLC Jeopardy.
Family Feud questions were developed for the symposium.
• The Annual Conference was in Chicago, IL, March 28-31, 2015.
o Kim Glackin, Kristy Bishop, & Melissa Giese presented Grit, Hope, and the First-year Student
and Cynthia Sexton Proctor & Chad Montuori presented Boot Camp Bridge Program:
Clearing a Path Toward Success. Both presentations were well received and had positive
feedback.
• HLC site visit by Peer Review Team will be November 16-17, 2015.
Assessment Reports
o On March 5th, Melissa Giese and Kristy Bishop spoke on a national Noel-Levitz Webinar –
How to Assess Student Satisfaction and Priorities. There were approximately 100
institutions on the call and there were many questions of interest fielded.
o The SENSE data is being reviewed. An overall report is available on the strategic blog. More
results will be added to the assessment website. Kristy offered to do presentations of the
data across the district if there is interest. The results will be presented at the Symposium
in July.
Proposals for new assessment or survey requests

Campus Reports
• We still need a faculty member for BR and LV.
• BR – A survey was given to All for the Children attendees. There were some challenges getting the
surveys completed. Better strategies for implementation will occur before the event next year.
• BTC– The met last month.
• LV – They are doing assessments on library satisfaction and common read.
• MW – They have a combined committee and last meeting focused primarily on a curriculum.
• PV – No report
• FOCUS Grant – No report

New Business
• The 5th Annual JCCC Regional Community College Assessment Conference is April 10th. The
following are presenting at the conference: Melissa Giese, Kristy Bishop, Kim Glackin - Grit, Hope,
and the First-year Student and Jim McGraw and Connie Flick-Hruska - Hope.
o We have hosted this conference every other year. It is a huge endeavor for Kristy and
Melissa. They will be starting a committee with JCCC to co-plan the conference for 2016.
• The Enhancing Teaching & Learning Conference offered through KCPDC is May 20th.
Next meeting: June 11, 2015, PVCC 503, 3:00 – 4:30
No meeting in May due to Discipline reviews.
The meeting was adjourned.
