HLC Committee Report • Campus Liaison Training – 11/12/13 • Next monthly meeting is on 11/19/13. Survey Reports • Tammie May and Melissa Giese closed a survey that went out to a random sample of 6000 Cass County residents. The purpose is to assess their interest in higher education and having an MCC presence in Cass County. Analysis has begun and found the population has a high percentage of older respondents that have no dependents at home. There was a lot of interest in continuing education. More analysis continues. The response rate was lower than hoped. • The Applicant Survey (formerly known as the Prospect Survey) is being done again this fall. Melissa Giese hired student workers to make phone calls to people who applied to MCC but did not enroll or attend. Surveying is currently underway. • The Teacher Education Survey in conjunction with Missouri Western State University has closed and results will be analyzed once all classes have been returned to IR. • Noel-Levitz will be done online this spring for students, staff and faculty. o All students will be sent an online invitation to the Student Satisfaction Inventory (SSI) in March and will be open through April. Advertising and incentives (food) were discussed to increase response rates. It was suggested that kiosks in the enrollment center were to be utilized as well as working with student groups, Student Governments, and Campus Life and Leadership. o We discussed opening up the Institutional Priorities (IPS) survey for faculty to include staff and administrators this year. Last year only faculty were included because we were comparing data to CCSSE which only surveys faculty. A random sample of 500 faculty and 500 staff and administrators will be surveyed this spring in February. The AC and IWI will be excluded. o We talked about adding questions to the survey this time. We didn’t add additional questions during the last administration. We can’t change the faculty rank question. The 1 Metropolitan Community College DACC MEETING Thursday, November 14, 2013 • • 3-4:30 PM PV CC503 following topics were mentioned for inclusion: student preparedness, helping students chose major and/or plan, new student enrollment group, developmental questions, placement, title III, COLL 100, and time to completion. Noel Levitz has very specific question formatting that must be followed. Not all questions lend themselves to that type of format. Additional topics/questions will be collected this month for review and feasibility for inclusion. o Noel-Levitz questions are linked to HLC criteria for easier reporting. o This year we will have comparison data from the last administration to look for improvement. Kristy Bishop and Melissa Giese gave 23 result presentations last time. They would like to get to the board and to student groups this administration. SENSE will be administered in fall 2014 through the Title III grant and CCSSE will be administered in spring 2015.
