Construction Inspectors solely in a training position shall be designated by the COR via Form GP-6320-32, Designation of Inspector (In Training), IIT, (see Exhibit 1). 2. IIT's will be assigned to projects to obtain the training necessary for their development as fully qualified inspectors. When a person is designated as an IIT, a written plan will be developed to insure completion of the planned training, both the person being trained and the COR will indicate completion of each phase of the completed training on the written plan. 3. Since the purpose of an IIT designation is to train people to become fully qualified inspectors, they will not be assigned field work unless a certified inspector, or COR, will be present to direct their work. You will be working under the direct, on the ground, supervision of a qualified inspector or myself. We will provide training for you in the complexities of contract field inspection, administrative requirements, contract documentation, and inspection methods and procedures. Your responsibilities are: 1. Read and become familiar with the contract, concentrating on the specifications and plans. 2. Read and become familiar with all other documents associated with the contract, including any Environmental Analysis and project design prescriptions. 3. Maintain a project daily diary of all occurrences or developments which happen while ou are on the project. 4. When you observe activities which you believe are not in compliance with the terms of the contract, you will immediately notify the designated inspector or myself. 5. You will refer all questions regarding this contract to the inspector, or to me. All dealings with the Contractor, including Notices of Non-compliance, issuance of Work Orders, and contract changes, are the specific responsibility of the inspector, myself or the Contracting Officer.
