School of Architecture, Maharishi Markandeshwar University organized a one day industrial visit for the 3 rd year students of B.Arch. to CAST IRON FACTORY in Sadopur Ambala , on
Tuesday 25 th
Aug 2015 as a part of subject Building Construction and Materials. The purpose of site visit was to make students better understand the manufacturing process of cast iron, the steel structures along with various types of steel connections, trusses and steel shuttering details that they were being taught in their course.
The students have seen the working process of the cupola furnace practically. They have been gone through various types of construction details related to their course work. The construction details includes angular trusses, steel floor-high Platform with base, steel staircase, roofing covering material fixing with J hook detail, gutter detail etc.
All the students have strengthened their academic base knowledge with the practical site experience.
