Tic-Tac-Toe Project Explanations

Translate: Translate the conversation between Hugo y Sofia into Spanish. It must be typed. Must be in

Spanish and use the correct punctuation.

Make a postcard: Make a postcard from a Spanish-speaking city of your choice. The front should have the name of the city and a picture/pictures/drawing of the city or of something that represents the city.

Then on the back, include the sending address and a stamp on the right with a message on the left. The message needs to be written in the preterite tense about a trip you are on and must consist of at least

200 words.

Make Q-Q-T cards: You will create 35 Quiz-Quiz-Trade cards that relate to chapter 8A. The cards must be ½ of a 3x5 index card and they must include both the question and answer on the same side. Each card must contain 2-3 questions. Examples of questions are translations, multiple choice, true/false, etc. Be creative and challenge your classmates! We will play your Q-Q-T cards in class. Must be in

Make a piñata: Make an authentic piñata that has a “vacation” theme. It must include pictures, verbs and vocabulary from the chapter vocabulary.

Write a journal: Write journal entries for a 5-day vacation. Each entry must include a picture or drawing and must include at least 40 words. They must include present and preterite verb tenses, chapter vocabulary only, a date for each entry and a title for the whole trip.

Interview: You just interviewed the principal about the best vacation he ever went on. Now, transpose the interview into Spanish. Must include at least 5 questions and 5 answers. Use our imagination as to where he went. Once you pick a city (in a Spanish-speaking country) you must research various tourist destinations and include them in your interview answers. Site your sources (at least 3). Must be typed.

Make a video: This project can be done in groups up to 4 people in the same class. You will be making a video that teaches a concept we have covered in this chapter (preterite tense, preterite verb ir, asking questions about vacations). The video must be at least 5 minutes long and include a short skit in

Spanish that applies to the concept covered. (The skit will more than likely be about someone who has just returned from a vacation).

Design a board game: Design a board game that helps reinforce what we have studied in chapter 8A about vacations. You will have to make a rulebook, a board, game pieces and whatever else you may need to play the game. If the game contains questions, they must be in Spanish (unless it is culture based), be on a card and have the answer. Be creative! We will have to

Write a children’s book: Write a children’s book that has to do with vacations. It must be written in the preterite tense and include an illustration on each page. The book needs to have a title and must be at least 10 pages long (5 pages front and back). The illustrations must be detailed, vibrant, and colorful (no computer print-outs). They should enhance the story line. The characters must have Spanish names.
