Why are you interested in becoming a Board Member of the Accounting Society? In what ways can you improve the Accounting Society? Explain any changes you would like to make if elected. Supplemental Questions On a separate document, please answer the question that corresponds with the position(s) that you are applying for. We are looking for a comprehensive and detailed response. President – (1) Describe some changes you would like to see to better the reputation of the Accounting Society and UC Riverside as a whole. (2) As President, your biggest role is to micromanage the board members, how will you go about this and make sure everyone stays on top of their duties? Executive Vice President – (1) You are responsible for organizing the Spring Banquet, the biggest professional event of the year. Tell us how you are going to tackle this task. (2) In the Accounting Society organizational structure, you are a leader and a follower at the same time. Give us an example of a situation where you had to perform in both roles. VP of External Affairs – (1) The club is trying to increase our network and reach out to more firms/companies to come speak at our general meetings. Draft an email to a company asking them to come speak at one of our meetings. (2) After sending out available dates for firms to speak at our meeting, two firms want to attend the same date. What do you do and how do you respond to each firm? VP of Internal Affairs – (1) Bad Assets &Associates LLP is coming to a meeting. Please provide a sample email to our members informing them about the speaker and enticing them to attend the meeting. Feel free to add some personality. (2) You received an email from a student who is thinking about joining the Accounting Society, but would first like to know more about the organization. Please provide a response. VP of Finance – (1) You have miscalculated the budget for our annual Spring Banquet by $1,000, which comes up in 2 months, how would you address this issue? (2) If you had $10,000 what would you do with it and why? Special Events Coordinator – (1) Outside of VITA, what are other avenues that you wish for the club to explore over the course of the year (give examples of specific events, etc.)? (2) What are some ways or events that we could have to strengthen the relationship between Accounting Society members? Marketing Director – (1) Our club is not well represented throughout school, can you provide a one better way to advertise our organization to the school? (2) The Spring Banquet is the biggest event that we host every year. How would you go about advertising this event to accounting majors? (3) What is your definition of marketing? (4) Do you have access to Photoshop? Technology Director – (1) Describe any prior experience you have had with social media (not your personal Facebook, Twitter, etc.)? (2) How would you promote the Accounting Society through social media? (3) Will you be available one hour before the meeting [Tuesdays at 7PM] to pick up food for the meetings?
