3rd Trimester 2013

Welcome to My Class
I hope you had an enjoyable 2nd trimester and I know you are ready for
the great adventures of Physics! I am sure this trimester will be one
you will never forget.
The following topics will be taught this trimester. The topics are taken
from the National Science Standards and Kentucky Program of
Studies.

Classroom Rules
 BE READY If you are not in
your seat when the tardy bell
rings, you will receive a seat
tardy. Three seat tardies and
you will stay in break.
 BE RESPECTFUL
Rudeness to classmates and
teacher will not be tolerated.
 BE RESPONSIBLE. Always
bring you notebook, pencil
and homework to class every
day.
 Cell phones may only be
used with teacher
permission for classroom
use only. For example,
used as a calculator or to
research physics topics
related to our discussion.
If I hear or see your cell
out without permission, it
will be taken and taken to
the office.
 Enter and exit classroom
through hallway entrance.
Students are not allowed in
the science commons
without teacher permission.
 This is a lab class
therefore, NO FOOD OR
DRINKS IN THE
CLASSROOM.

Classroom Procedures
 Begin bellwork as soon as
you enter class. Your
bellwork assignment will be
posted on the overhead or you
may find it on the table as you
walk into the room.
 If you were absent, see me
before the tardy bell rings to
get your make-up work. Any
handouts that you may need
are located on the table as you
walk into the room.
 Class will be dismissed by
the teacher when all students
are seated and classroom is
clean.
 Class Exits – You are
allowed 2 class exits each
trimester. Once you have
used your exits you will not
be allowed to leave the room.
Grading Procedure

 You are expected to complete
homework to the best of your
ability. If you do not complete
homework, you will not be
prepared for class and will not
be able to participate in lab.
 Friday quizzes will be given
each Friday. The quiz will be
composed of multiple choice,
short answer, matching and
essay.
 Students may retake any test
or quiz. Students must
complete remediation,
completed all classwork and
homework prior to retaking a
test or quiz. Students will
have 2 weeks to retake from
the time the test or quiz was
initially given.
