COURSE REVISIONS: 1. BIO-11, Introductory Human Anatomy & Physiology, 4 units Modifications: add DE/Hybrid delivery Ann Wright presented modifications to BIO-11 to allow for distance delivery of lecture material while laboratory content would continue to be offered face-to-face. MSP (vote: unanimous) to approve DE/hybrid delivery of BIO-11 2. BIO-18, Introduction to Pathophysiology, 3 units Modifications: title, description, objectives, content, materials, assignments, add DE Ann Wright discussed modifications to BIO-18 (formerly The Biology of Diseases). The revisions to this course present content at a depth and rigor more suitable for students preparing for the health professions. Similar courses are offered at several other community colleges. MSP (vote unanimous) to approve modifications to BIO-18 MSP (vote unanimous) to approve prerequisites of BIO-11 or BIO-6 and BIO-6L and Bio-5 MSP (vote unanimous) to approve DE delivery 3. ENG-46A, Survey of British Literature I, 3 units Modifications: add assignments and DE Hetty Yelland discussed revisions to ENG-46A. MSP (vote: unanimous) to approve modifications to ENG-46A MSP (vote unanimous) to approve DE delivery IV. TWO READING ITEMS, SECOND READING – ACTION a. NEW COURSES: 1. MUS-8, American Popular Music, 3 units Beth Ratay and Steve Ettinger were present to answer remaining questions regarding this new course. The course requirement to attend a concert was clarified and an alternative assignment was suggested for any student who might be unable to attend a concert outside of normal class time. MSP (vote: unanimous) to approve MUS-8, American Popular Music MSP (vote: unanimous) to include the course in the Hartnell General Education/Humanities area in addition to meeting requirements for Ethnic Studies in the US 2. V. RCP-226, Success Strategies for 2nd Semester RCP Students, 0.5 units Tanya Ho was present to support this new course. MSP (vote: unanimous) to approve this new course. TWO READING ITEMS, SECOND READING – ACTION a. NEW PROGRAM: 1. AA-T, Studio Arts Jerri Nemiro was present to answer any remaining questions for the second reading of this new program. Report on FIG (Jason Hough) Jason reported on the results of a faculty inquiry group tracking student success in a target course (Chem-22) after completion of English 1A. b. Report on digital media (Jason Hough) Jason reported on coming trends in digital resources and their potential impact on student engagement, finances and learning. VII.
