The Odyssey: Cyclops Comic Strip Your Task: You are creating a comic strip detailing the adventures of Odysseus and his men on the island of the Cyclops. Directions: To make your comic strip work, you will need to create six panels – just like a Sunday comic. (A Sunday comic, you might recall, is always color; yours should be colored too.) Each panel will represent one of the six elements of a story - exposition, conflict, rising action, climax, falling action, and resolution. Your choice of these six important parts of the Cyclops episode should therefore reflect/retell the story accurately. First Step: Before you start drawing, you need to plan out your comic strip: Write one description for each panel (6 panels total). Each description and panel should include: A line or lines from the text of The Odyssey that explains what is happening in that panel. It must be a direct quote from the story and have the line number(s) in parentheses after it (you do not need to put page number). You may invent short bits of dialogue to put inside the panel. Briefly describe what you are going to draw. 2-3 sentences explaining how the lines you chose fit the corresponding element of a story (exposition, conflict, rising action, climax, falling action, and resolution). Second Step: Draw your comic strip: 6 panels in color Each panel will have a text box beneath it that includes the direct quote from the story and the line number(s) in parentheses after it. Panels should demonstrate care and concern for detail and accurately reflect the events in the text The Odyssey: Cyclops Comic Strip Your Task: You are creating a comic strip detailing the adventures of Odysseus and his men on the island of the Cyclops.
