Classroom Rules and Procedures

Students are expected to be in their seats

before

the bell rings. o If you are not in your seat, you will be counted tardy. o From three times of being tardy and on, you will receive a detention.

Students will need their agenda filled out to go to the restroom/locker. o Other locations will be need special permission from administration.

Respect will be given to each student, so respect is expected back from each student. o Students will also respect each other showing no harassment or bullying to each other. o Insubordination or profanity will not be tolerated.

Only food/drink allowed in class is water. You will be asked to discard anything else.

Gum will only be allowed as long as it does not disrupt class.

Course Description and Objectives

Geometry is a one year mathematics course given for students to gain knowledge of the basic principles of geometry which included logic, reasoning, and proof. Students will study principles of ideal geometry and be shown how to apply it to real-life situations. Students will also be given knowledge on how to use logic in mathematics and also in a variety of ways such as advertising and debating.

Required Supplies: Pencil (no pens)

Notebook Paper iPad

Calculator (Required)

Assignments

Test/Quizzes o Test/Quizzes - 80% of total grade. o There will be a review day before a test. o Be prepared and ready for quizzes that are pre-announced (no reviews before quizzes). o Pop quizzes will be a rarity, but will be given if needed.

Homework o 20% of total grade. o Graded by a Rubric. o Always due the following day it is assigned unless otherwise noted.

LATE WORK POLICY o You will be given one day extra to make up for each excused day missed . o If not turned in on time, the student will be given zeros for the assignments.
