Highlighting the role and importance of research. 2. Understanding the major terms and concepts related to research process and methodology. 3. Demonstrating the major steps and stages of the research process. 4. Pointing out the different types of experimental and non-experimental research. 5. Explaining how various statistical methods and techniques can be utilized in research. 6. Providing necessary knowledge and skills of writing research. Course Description: The course aims at familiarizing students with the major concepts of research methodology. Emphasizes will be placed on managerial and business research methods. The course is expected to help students acquire and enhance their research abilities and skills in areas related to problem specification, hypothesis developments, data collection, analysis and interpretation. Scientific research reports’ writing styles are also expounded. This course explains some of selected statistical methods in scientific research. Intended Learning Outcomes : After studying this course the student should be able to: 1. Demonstrating a clear understanding of the scientific thinking methods. 2. Recognizing the differences among quantitative and qualitative research. 3. Understanding the various steps of scientific research and how to apply them in a real research setting. 4. Grasping the main skills of utilizing and applying statistical techniques in research. 5. Reflecting necessary skills and abilities to writing a research manuscript.
