St. Vincent Healthcare and our Foundation are proud to be the originators
of St. Vincent Children’s Healthcare. With state-wide partners, our ambition
is to transform pediatric care in our region forever. In the past seven years
we’ve made amazing strides thanks to philanthropic support. With Montana
and Wyoming’s only full scale PICU for children, the Fortin Regional Pediatric
Specialty Clinic, and unique pediatric specialist services, we are making a
difference in the lives of the smallest, most fragile children in our region.

of St. Vincent Healthcare
The Metzger family was one of the Billings area’s founding
families, farming for many years near Duck Creek along
Metzger Road. Paul Metzger was a farmer, investor and
a philanthropist with a passion for supporting our local
community. At his passing, Mr. Metzger left a large estate
to the mission of St. Vincent Healthcare, which will support
the pediatric initiatives of the hospital for years to come.
We are honored to carry on Mr. Metzger’s legacy
through his philanthropic commitment.
Regional Cancer Care Excellence
St. Vincent Frontier Cancer Center, with Dr. Lee McNeely at the helm,
started the CyberKnife program in August 2014 thanks to a generous
gift from The Leona M. and Harry B. Helmsley Charitable Trust.
With the most up-to-date technology and the most experienced
CyberKnife medical leadership, St. Vincent’s cancer program will offer
hope to many patients managing lung, brain, prostate and other tumors.

Jim and Lin Roscoe
Jim’s first stint on the St. Vincent Healthcare
Board of Directors was in 1992. He went on to
serve multiple terms totaling 14 years. Although
Jim served on many governing committees, he
has stated that he is “more energized by the
St. Vincent Healthcare mission than by finances
or operations.” In 2011, Jim was invited as one
of the initial five Sponsors’ Council members
of the newly formed Leaven Ministries and
is helping assure that the Sisters of Charity
mission remains at the heart of St. Vincent
Healthcare.
Lin, a registered nurse, worked many nursing
positions, including emergency and mother/
newborn and later – her career transitioned
to service as a volunteer nurse, dedicating 16
years to the Catholic school system. In recent
years, Lin has been a source of comfort to SVH
patients as a parish visitor on behalf of St. Pius X
Parish. On a spiritual journey with no end and
a boundless capacity for love and compassion,
Lin is now enrolled through St. Vincent
Healthcare in the Clinical Pastoral Education
program. St. Vincent Healthcare Chaplain Terry
Hollister said, “Lin is a woman of great faith and
significant self-insight. She is continuing to find
ways to stretch herself and serve.”

February 2014 brought the need to re-build
and refurbish the Medical-Surgical Center to
the forefront with a lead charitable commitment
of $345,000. Their gift will combine with other
funds raised to create a peaceful and dignified
environment for patients who are battling
cancer and other illnesses.
When one reviews
St. Vincent Healthcare’s
history over the past thirty
years, it is evident that Jim
and Lin Roscoe’s devotion
to the hospital runs deep.

Heart and Vascular Center of Excellence
Utilizing the Steve and Debbie Reger Hybrid Operating Suite for complex,
largely non-invasive heart procedures has been an amazing gift to patients
in the region. Advancements in valve replacement surgery, completed in
the safety of the hybrid operating room, offer hope to heart patients who,
prior to these cutting edge procedures, were limited in their options.

Messiah Festival. Tickets are
free to the public, and all funds are
dedicated to the operation of the
Meadowlark House, a free cancer
patient lodging facility providing
a “home away from home” for
traveling cancer patients. This
holiday tradition is held on Sunday,
December 6, 2015 at the Alberta
Bair Theater.
