
In fiscal 2012, Kroger and its customers, associates and supplier partners invested a company-record
$250 million in the communities it serves through its priority areas of hunger relief, support for the
military and their families, breast cancer awareness, and more than 30,000 schools and grassroots
organizations.
Kroger Executive Bios
David B. Dillon
Chairman and Chief Executive Officer
Dave Dillon is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of The Kroger Co., based in Cincinnati.
Dave served in a variety of leadership roles after joining the Dillons Company in 1976 with its
King Soopers division in Denver. During his career, he served in various leadership positions
with Fry’s Food Stores and the Dillon Companies before being named president of Dillon
Companies in 1986. He was appointed executive vice president of Kroger in 1990, and he was
elected president and chief operating officer of the company in 1995. Dave was named CEO of Kroger in 2003. He
was elected Chairman of the Board of Directors in 2004.
Dave earned a bachelor’s degree in Business at the University of Kansas and a law degree at Southern Methodist
University.
Dave is a member of the board of directors of DIRECTV. He also serves on the Board of Trustees for the University
of Cincinnati Foundation, the Board of Trustees for the Urban League of Greater Cincinnati, the Board of Trustees
for the University of Kansas Endowment, the Board of Trustees for Bethesda, Inc., and the Board of Directors for
Catalyst.
W. Rodney McMullen
President and Chief Operating Officer
Rodney McMullen is President and Chief Operating Officer of The Kroger Co. He is responsible
for all of Kroger’s supermarket divisions, Advertising, Customer Relationship Marketing,
Manufacturing, Merchandising and Procurement, Pharmacy and Retail Operations.
Rodney joined Kroger in 1978 as a part-time stock clerk in Lexington, Ky. During his career with
Kroger, he has served in numerous leadership positions, including assistant treasurer, vice president of planning
and capital management, corporate controller, chief financial officer, senior vice president, executive vice
president and vice chairman. He was elected to Kroger’s Board of Directors in 2003 and elected to his current
position in August 2009.
Rodney is a member of the Board of Directors of Cincinnati Financial Corp. He also serves on the Board of Trustees
of Xavier University and on the Business Partnership Foundation, Gatton College of Business and Economics at the
University of Kentucky.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, a B.B.A in Finance, and a master’s degree in Accounting, all from the
University of Kentucky.
J. Michael Schlotman
Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
Mike Schlotmanis Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of The Kroger Co. He is
responsible for accounting, capital management, corporate finance, insurance procurement,
financial reporting, financial services, investor relations, tax, treasury, and travel.
Mike joined Kroger in 1985 and has held a variety of leadership positions in accounting, including
vice president and corporate controller. He was named group vice president and chief financial
officer in 2000, and was named senior vice president in 2003.
Mike earned a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Kentucky.
