Develop and attain budgeted sales, gross margin, and market share. Work closely with Corporate Category Managers and supervise Category Administrative Assistant. Communicate with divisions to ensure implementation of Strategic Category Plans that take advantage of company size and at the same time are sensitive to individual markets. Essential Job Functions: • • • • • • • • • • • • Develop and communicate corporate strategic category plans with focus on Divisions, including: Strategic category plans and direction; global category plans, weekly sales plans, ad plans, display plans, demos, rollers, special programs, seasonal and annual merchandising programs; negotiate corporate contracts, manage and communicate Division specific assortment updates, ownership of sales, gross margin, and market share. Develop and achieve budgets by category and Division and develop category plans to achieve targeted sales budget by Division. Maintain positive trade relations and develop strategic alliances with suppliers. Interview and negotiate with manufacturers. Develop Kroger specific selling programs for specific categories. Manage marketing funds and pre-paid accounts, and supplier pre-paid accounts. Develop Corporate Brand strategy and implement in all markets, including all Kroger manufactured and procured product lines in assigned categories. Coordinate new Corporate Brand items, both procured and manufactured, with the Marketing Manager. Coordinate Corporate Brand procurement and rebids with the Marketing Manager. Assist in meeting targets, Corporate Brand budgets, and share goals for assigned categories. Supervise and coach direct reports in the performance of their duties; complete performance reviews and provide feedback to direct reports.
