**Effective with the 2013-14 school year, HB 1501 requires every public elementary and secondary school to provide for a moment of silence that commemorates the memory of those who lost their lives on Sept. 11, 2001. The school/classroom instructor must make a statement of reference to 9-11 and the memory of those who died.

This moment of silence can be in conjunction to the moment of silence already required by law.
