MED SURG EXAM REVIEW
Kendra has an extensive and comprehensive knowledge base and is known for her ability to simplify the
complex while maintaining audience attention. She
received her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from the
University of Texas in Arlington in 1985 and her Master’s Degree in Nursing as a Clinical Nurse Specialist
from Texas Women’s University in 1993. Her work
includes critical care education for surgical/trauma,
neurosurgical and thoracic surgery. She held positions in management and was a Trauma Clinical
Nurse Specialist. Kendra is a staff nurse in the neurosurgical ICU at Harris Methodist Hospital, Ft. Worth,
Texas and presents seminars throughout the country.
She is certified by the American Association of Critical Care Nurses and is a Fundamental Critical Care
Support Instructor (FCCS) for the Society of Critical
Care Medicine.

COURSE PROSPECTUS
This course is designed for nurses working in Medical
-Surgical and Progressive Care Units who wish to
take the Med-Surg Certification examination. The Progressive Care Area is defined as any unit referred to
as: Intermediate Care, Direct Observation, Stepdown, Telemetry Units, or Transitional Care. The
course will focus on core concepts that are essential
for caring for this diverse population of adult patients.
This review course has been designed specifically
around the exam blueprints. Domains of practice include Growth and Development, Communication, Basic and Applied Science, Behavioral Science, Patient/
