Dear ACLS Renewal Participant:
This letter confirms your registration in the Advanced Cardiac Life Support Renewal Course. Registration will
begin at 8:00 am and the class will begin promptly at 8:15 am. The class will conclude by 3:00 pm. Class will
be held at the Avera McKennan Education Center, classroom 2, located at 810 East 23rd Street, Sioux Falls,
SD.
You will need to come to this course prepared to:
1) Appropriately manage and direct a team response for the first 10 minutes of a code in a “mock” code
situation.
2) Demonstrate use of the basic airway adjuncts, application/operation of an AED and CPR for the
Healthcare Provider skills.
3) Successfully pass the written exam.
To help you prepare:
 Print, complete and grade the written pre-course self-assessment located on the registration
website. Time will be allowed on the first day to ask questions about material covered in the
assessment.
 Print and review the Errata Sheet for ACLS located on the registration website. This sheet
highlights the 2010 AHA Guidelines for CPR and ECC.
The required textbook for this course is: American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support Provider
Manual 2006. Textbooks will not be available for purchase on the day of the course. Books are available for
checkout at the Avera McKennan Library. You may also consider purchasing a textbook from one of the
