NCLEX-RN Exam Remedial Course (NCNU 002PG) This course is designed for individuals who have not successfully passed the NCLEX-RN exam. It is designed as a primarily independent study course with some supportive information sessions facilitated through web delivered methods. Access is provided to Lippincott Passpoint, a multifaceted online learning resource that includes online content, remediation for areas identified as needing additional attention, and practice quizzes that simulate NCLEX questions. In addition, access is provided to a second multifaceted online learning resource, Health Education Systems Incorporated (HESI). This provides online review content, two exams that are predictive of success with the NCLEX-RN exam, and one computer adapted test (CAT). In addition, personalized feedback and review are provided throughout as the individual works through the components of the resource. The final online learning resource that is provided is a 5 week subscription to the NCSBN Review for the NCLEX-RN Examination. This resource provides NCLEX-style questions, nursing content organized according to the current NCLEX test plan, quizzes and other resources. It is designed by the makers of the NCLEX-RN exam The course (NCNU 002PG) can be completed at a distance except for the three HESI exams. Each of these exams must be written in person in an invigilated environment, typically located within Regina or Saskatoon. The information sessions will be facilitated through web delivered methods, which may include both synchronous and asynchronous offerings. The course can be completed within a variable time frame. However, the three HESI exams will be scheduled at one month intervals. This provides the individual with opportunities to reflect on areas requiring additional growth and adapt the focus of their study efforts. The course will be offered in a cohort model in order to facilitate the invigilated exams. A new cohort will begin each month that there are individuals registered for the course. It is up to the individual to identify the need for, and to register for, the course. If requested, a certificate of completion will be provided once all three HESI exams have been completed. Should any additional information or confirmation about completion of the course be required, the individual must identify the specifics needed. The fee of the course is $550, which covers the cost of the resources provided. Once the registration form is received, an email will be sent indicating the process for paying the fee. Once the fee is paid, a code to access each of the three online resources will be sent through email. Information about the information sessions will also be shared via email.
