Mission: Who: Select CHS JROTC Cadets What: WACKO Where: East Anchorage High School When: 10 October, 2015 Why: Team building, Esprit de Corps 2. Situation: a. Enemy Forces. Other JROTC programs from the Anchorage School District as well as the MATSU Borough School District have been practicing and perfecting their skills and abilities for several weeks. They are well prepared and their morale is high. Fierce competition should be expected. b. Friendly Forces. Selected volunteer LET 1-4’s will comprise the competitive teams. Supporting elements will consist of CHS JROTC SAI and AI as well as select members of the battalion staff (S5) 3. Execution: a. Concept of operation (How we will accomplish this mission) (1) All cadets participating on the WACKO teams will meet promptly at 0650 hours, 10 October in the JROTC room (216) in P.T clothing with CHS JROTC Tshirt/Sweatshirt and optional back pack with necessary items for the day. We will load onto the bus and depart from CHS at 0715. We will be sharing a bus with Wasilla High School JROTC. (2) Cadets will unload the bus at East Anchorage High School and gain accountability of personnel and equipment. Cadre and the Cadet Battalion Commander will attend coaches meeting at 0830 to be briefed on the day’s events and timelines. (3) The competition officially begins at 0900 and will be complete on or about 1400 of the same day. Upon completion of the competition an awards presentation will take place which will last approximately 45 minutes. (4) Upon completion of the presentation of awards, accountability of Cadets and equipment will be conducted prior to loading buses at approximately 1500 for the return trip to Colony High School. (5) Estimated time of return to Colony High School rear entrance will be 1550 hrs. Participating Cadets will be asked to notify parents/guardians of their expected time of return while passing through Eagle River via Glenn Highway by phone if possible. b. Coordinating instructions. (1) All Cadets will travel in their JROTC t-shirt/sweatshirt and shorts/sweatpants. This uniform is encouraged but not required. In lieu of the JROTC attire, Cadets may wear appropriate physical fitness clothing. A small backpack for personal items is optional but should be clearly marked with the Cadets name and school. Any Cadet requiring the use of an inhaler for exercise induced asthma should ensure that it is brought along for the day and utilizing in accordance with its prescribed manner. (2) All Cadets are encouraged to eat breakfast prior to arriving at Colony High School the morning of the event. Eating on the bus will be discouraged. (3) Cadets will be released at the completion of the day by Cadre only after all Cadets and equipment have been accounted for and turned in. 4. Service Support: a. Transportation: MATSU School District Bus will be provided. Adult supervision will consist of LTC Cieslo and 1SG Heavener. Wasilla High School JROTC instructors will also be present. b. Supplies and rations: Lunch will be provided by COSTCO (pizza and beverages) at no cost to the individual Cadet. Any Cadet who has food allergies or special dietary requirements should notify the SAI/AI one week prior to allow for coordinating other options. c. Uniform: Athletic shoes, shorts/sweatpants, JROTC tshirt/sweatshirt will be the uniform of the day. Weather dependent, Cadets are encouraged to bring a jacket, gloves and hat if they deem necessary.
