Home and garden secured by Siemens Gigaset WLAN camera
The Gigaset WLAN Camera from Siemens Communications keeps a constant
watch on the home and garden. As soon as the integrated motion detector senses anything out of the ordinary, it immediately sends an email alert. The camera
also streams live Internet video of the property so people can keep tabs on their
property anytime on any Windows PC. Even when the rooms are dark, trouble is
detected by the camera’s sensitive built in microphone.
The Gigaset WLAN camera is a clever electronic guard dog for people on the go, who
like to keep a close eye on their belongings. The compact camera can easily be set up
anywhere in the house on its table-top swivel or wall mount. And because of its integrated wireless local area network (WLAN) technology, extra cables are not required.
All that is needed is a WLAN-Router and a high-speed Internet connection for a flexible,
effective security solution for the home.
Live streaming MPEG-4 Internet video of the home can be accessed as it is happening
from anywhere in the world at any time – all that is needed is a Windows PC with an
Internet connection. The camera’s built-in microphone also offers sound, and for even
better audio quality, there is a jack for an external microphone. So with live streaming
video and high-quality audio, people always know what is going on at home even when
they are not there. But at the same time, peace of mind can be had without sitting and
staring at the PC.

The Gigaset WLAN camera is available beginning in March 2005. The camera comes
complete with antenna, table-top swivel mount, wall mount, power supply unit, software
and users guide.
