Sunset Joins Exclusive Inc. 500|5000 List for the Second Year in a Row
ST. LOUIS, MO—Sunset Transportation, Inc. a third-party logistics company (3PL), was named to the Inc.
500|5000 list of America’s fastest-growing private companies. As a second-time honoree, Sunset was ranked
No. 22 in Missouri, and No. 2196 overall in the United States. The Inc. list spotlights entrepreneurial success
and has included companies such as Facebook, Zappos, Under Armour, Timberland, ClifBar, Chobani yogurt, and
Levi Strauss.
For Sunset, being honored in both 2012 and 2013, shows that their continued plan of rapid growth and
customer development has been extremely successful. Sunset has no plans to slow down this strategic growth,
with intentions to continually progress and improve through all aspects of their business model.

The median growth rate of 2013 Inc. 500|5000 companies in the Transportation and Logistics segment is
114 percent. Sunset Transportation’s three-year growth exceeds the median at 168 percent.


national unemployment rates still hover around 7%, this is a truly impressive feat.

Methodology
This year's list measures revenue growth from 2009 through 2012. To qualify, companies must have been
founded and generating revenue by March 31, 2009. Additionally, they had to be U.S.-based, privately held, for
profit, and independent--not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies-as of December 31, 2012. (Since then,
a number of companies on the list have gone public or been acquired.) The minimum revenue required for 2009
is $100,000; the minimum for 2012 is $2 million. Revenue figures given in the company profiles are for calendar
year 2012. Employee counts are as of December 31, 2012. Full-time and part-time employees are included in the
employee counts; independent contractors are not. They represent the top tier of the Inc. 5000, which can be
