FIELD SERVICE ENGINEER
Our Field Service Engineer plays a vital role in ensuring our customers receive excellent on-site
support, consultation and repair for our equipment for both routine maintenance and emergency issues.
This Company representative is a member of our critical Product Service Department and has
extensive knowledge in evaluating, testing, troubleshooting, repairing, modifying and assisting the
customer with a wide variety of plant system valve equipment. Performing as lead engineer, this
individual is capable of working in the field with or without supervision and may support the customer by
conducting training at the job site.
The Field Service Engineer has an important and rewarding position that includes the following diverse
responsibilities:
 Provides field service support for repair and refurbishing during power plant outage seasons
(typically spring and fall) for various lengths of assignment
 Travels to customer job site on a timely basis to evaluate equipment issue and reports to
Company Product Service Supervisor
 Develops strong relationship and communication with our customers and recommends
resolution to issues
 Ensures service work is completed utilizing strict adherence to safety and quality standards for
both the Company and the customer
 Interfaces with Engineering, Spare Parts and Sales departments to answer service related
questions
 Understands and follows blueprints, schematics, and specifications for custom designed parts
and equipment
 Prepares instruction manuals and assists with modification packages
 Inspects and refurbishes equipment located both internally and externally at job site by working
in varied conditions including height and temperature
 Writes reports for the customer and the Company detailing on-site visit including
recommendation, costs and completion
 Assists manufacturing by providing assistance with equipment assembly at main factory
Qualifications:
 Strong written and verbal communication skills a must for interfacing internally and externally
 Interpersonal and organization skills required
 Mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills a must
 AS/BS Engineering degree with 2 to 3 years similar experience preferred.
 Must be available for travel when required
 Must successfully complete background screening and employment physical related to job
demands
