REGULAR BOARD MEETING –MAY 13 2015
Minutes of the regular meeting of the Board of School Directors of the Connellsville Area School District held
in the Connellsville Area Senior High School, 201 Falcon Drive, Connellsville, Pennsylvania, on Wednesday,
May 13, 2015, at 7:00 PM.
CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order by the Vice-President, Paul Mean at 7:00 p.m.

Jon Detwiler was absent.
Others present included District Administrators Basinger, Martell, Hampe, Lembo, Marko, Parlak and Stern,
Building Administrator O’Donnell, Solicitor Stern, two reporters and approximately twenty concerned citizens.
MOMENT OF SILENCE/PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
A moment of silence was observed and followed by the Pledge of Allegiance, led by Vice-President Means.
MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING
Vice-President Means called for approval of the minutes of the April 6 and 8, 2015, meetings, whereupon
motion was made by Mr. Mongell and seconded by Mr. Martucci to approve said minutes, a copy of same
having been previously received by all board members and distributed to all buildings. The following voted in
favor: Duncan, Fox, Harshman, Lape, Martucci, Mongell, Wandel and Means.
TREASURER’S REPORT
Vice-President Means called for approval of the Treasurer's Report, whereupon motion was made by Mr.
Wandel and seconded by Mr. Harshman to approve said report, having same spread upon the minutes. The

administrator and a kindergarten teacher to the United Way Transition Conference to revise the existing
transition plan, Penn State Fayette Eberly Campus, Friday, May 15, 2015, with all costs to be paid by Federal
Funds. The following voted in favor: Duncan, Fox, Harshman, Lape, Martucci, Mongell, Wandel and Means.
Motion was made by Mr. Mongell and seconded by Mr. Duncan to approve the Transition Camp, at an

Motion was made by Mr. Martucci and seconded by Mr. Fox to authorize the Business Manager to solicit
quotes for the Tax Anticipation Note (TAN) in an amount to be determined for the 2015-2016 School Year.

Motion was made by Mr. Martucci and seconded by Mr. Mongell to appoint Arthur J. Gallager Risk
Management Service and its representative Michael Gleason as the broker of record for the Connellsville Area
School District for the Workers Compensation Program. The following voted in favor: Duncan, Fox,
Harshman, Lape, Martucci, Mongell, Wandel and Means.
Motion was made by Mr. Martucci and seconded by Mr. Harshman to appoint Phil Martell as the voting
representative and Cherie Routzahn as the alternate, if needed, for the Connellsville Area School District and
the Connellsville Area Career and Technical Center for the annual IU1 Health Consortium Meeting. The
following voted in favor: Duncan, Fox, Harshman, Lape, Martucci, Mongell, Wandel and Means.
Motion was made by Mr. Martucci and seconded by Mr. Harshman to appoint Philip Martell as treasurer for
