Request approval for General Education designation for HTM 100, Introduction to Hospitality and Tourism Industry, and HTM 101,
Hospitality and Tourism Student Seminar. HTM 100 is a 2-credit course and HTM 101 is a 1-credit course. They are taught back-toback during a 15-week session. Each course will fulfill one required outcome. Students take both courses and will complete both
required outcomes.

HTM 100 INTRODUCTION TO THE HOSPITALITY &
TOURISM INDUSTRY

An overview of supervisory careers, opportunities, and
responsibilities in the food service and lodging industry.
HTM 101 HOSPITALITY AND TOURISM STUDENT
SEMINAR

Co-requisite: HTM 100
This course assists the student new to Purdue to become
acquainted with the Purdue system and with the HTM
department and program. Information presented to assist
students with developing strategies for academic and careerrelated success at Purdue.
