BOOTH # 5 - BAYCREST CENTRE FOR LEARNING, RESEARCH & INNOVATION Transforming care of the elderly by ‘taking a walk in their shoes’: An aging suit simulation to shift values and attitudes through experiential learning - The Baycrest Centre for Learning, Research and Innovation in Long Term Care in partnership with the Michener Institute will be showcasing high fidelity aging suits for conference participants to experience. This learning innovation showcase was designed to mimic physical limitations in aging and some common experiences encountered by the elderly in the healthcare system. Healthcare professionals and students are invited to participate, observe, and assist in the simulation. Participants who wear the aging simulation suit will complete various scenarios in the role of an elderly client and will be invited to share their physical and emotional experience. This innovation showcase will also highlight significant moments from past simulations including video and audio clips, as well as recommendations to enhance the simulation experience.
