SET UP MY eCONNECT ACCOUNT - WHO SHOULD USE THIS SCREEN? NEW USERS who have never logged in to eConnect before. RETURNING USERS who have forgotten their eConnect password, challenge question, or both, and who have requested a manual reset reset of their account. • Note: For security reasons, BOTH the password and challenge question are reset during the manual reset process. What you need BEFORE you begin: • Student ID# (7-digit) • An account in the eConnect Registry (username database) • E-mail Address as listed in eConnect 1. Open your web browser to this link: http://econnect.dcccd.edu/econnect/st/stmenu.html 2. Click Setup My eConnect Account 3. Type information in all required fields (with asterisks*). • Note: Always enter the date of birth as six numbers, e.g. mmddyy (April 16, 1982 is “051682”). 4. SUBMIT the page. • Note: An error message indicating that some of your information does not match requires that you contact your location Admissions/Registrar office and verify or update your information. 5. Create a strong password • 8-9 characters • at least one number, 0-9 and one letter, a-z, A-Z • It is recommended that you include at least one of the following special characters:!,#,$%ˆ)(-_'` • spaces and other special characters must not be included 6. Provide a password hint (this cannot be the same as your password) 7. Setup a Challenge Question/Answer and, if preferred, enable Enhanced Security • Note: Enhanced Security is optional. If enabled, it will increase the security on your account by requiring that you enter the answer to your Challenge Question before accessing additional screens. 8. SUBMIT the page. 9. Log in with your new password by clicking on the login link provided on the results page. • Note: An e-mail confirming your password reset will be sent to the e-mail address that is on file in your student record.
