Loussac Library (Anchorage) DLAB & DLPT V TESTING The Defense Language Aptitude Battery (DLAB) and Defense Language Proficiency Test (DLPT) can be taken at the JBER-E Education and Training Office (military only) by appointment. To schedule a test, members must send an email request to edoffice@elmendorf.af.mil that includes the test requested and the last four of the member’s SSN. GRADUATE MANAGEMENT ADMISSIONS TEST (GMAT) and GRADUATE RECORD EXAMINATION (GRE) REGISTERING FOR DANTES EXAMS No advance registration is required. REGISTERING FOR CLEP EXAMS In order to take a CLEP test, examinees are required to set up an account with College Board at https://clepportal.collegeboard.org/myaccount A. Click on the “Create an Account” button, enter all of the requested information, and sign in. B. Active duty members will need to click on the “Manage my Profile” button and then the “Edit This Information” button under “Personal Details” tab. Enter the requested information, check the box that says, “I am eligible for DANTES funding and I am not a veteran,” click “Save,” and then select the “Back to my Account” button. C. Find the heading “Recent Orders” near the bottom of the page and select “Click here to order a CLEP exam.” Find the exam you wish to take and add it to your cart (Note: it will display the price of $80 but the “DANTES Funded” option will be available to you when you check-out). D. During the checkout process, you will have the opportunity to select as many universities or colleges that you wish to receive your test results (Note: always select CCAF as one of your recipient colleges). E. Following checkout, make sure you print your confirmation ticket. You must bring it with you to your test session, along with your military ID, or you will not be allowed into testing! Your registration for the exam you have chosen will be good for 6 months. F. If using Wayland Baptist University, call 333-2277 or 753-6416 to schedule your test appointment. If using UAA, simply walk-in to their Testing Center anytime M-F, 0900-1500, with your ticket. CLEP & DANTES TESTING TIPS A. B. C. D. E. GUESS! Fill in every blank. There is no penalty for wrong answers; no points will be deducted. There are approximately 120 multiple-choice questions. You have 90 minutes to complete the test (120 minutes for some tests requiring an essay). Take the last five minutes to check your answers for accuracy and to ensure none were left blank. If an exam is failed, you must wait six-months to take that particular exam again. You can still take any other exam during this time. If you chose to re-take the failed exam, you must pay for it. CLEP & DANTES TESTING FEES (Subject to Change) CLEP GENERAL/SUBJECT EXAMS: Active-duty/Reserve/Guard Component: Free (re-takes cost $97.00) Civilian (Retirees, dependents, DoD employees) $97.00 each DANTES SUBJECT STANDARDIZED TESTS (DSST): Active-duty/Reserve/Guard Component: Free (re-takes cost $100.00) Civilian (Retirees, dependents, DoD employees) $100.00 each For the GRE exam, call UAA at 786-4500 or Sylvan ProMetric at (907) 276-0505 or 1-800-473-2255. The GMAT exam is taken through Wayland Baptist University, 333-2277, but you must first register to take the exam through the PearsonVue website at https://wsr.pearsonvue.com/military/. Both tests are selffunded but reimbursable (see below). Study Materials: VHS study materials for either the GRE or GMAT exam are available for checkout from the JBER-E Education and Training Office. Reimbursement Eligibility: to be eligible for reimbursement of the GRE or GMAT testing fee, the examinee must, at the time of testing, possess a current Armed Forces of the United States” identification card and meet the following requirements: • • Has never taken a DANTES-funded GMAT or GRE exam Is applying to or enrolled in a graduate school requiring the GMAT or GRE exam or is fulfilling a legitimate Service requirement Reimbursement: bring a copy of your Official Score Report and your proof of payment (e.g. credit card receipt) to the JBER-E Education and Training Office to obtain a reimbursement voucher. SAT/ACT These exams are administered through the JBER-R Testing Center by appointment, 384-0961. Study Materials: DVD study materials for the SAT exam are available for checkout from the JBER-E Education and Training Office. Study materials for the ACT are available from the JBER library. ARMED FORCES CLASSIFICATION TEST (AFCT) This exam is administered through the JBER-E Education and Training Office by appointment. To schedule a test, members must send an email request to edoffice@elmendorf.af.mil that includes the test requested and the last four of the member’s SSN. Study Materials: DVD study materials for the ASVAB are available from the JBER-E Education and Training Office. While the ASVAB is not the same test, the content is nearly identical. AIR FORCE OFFICER QUALIFICATION TEST (AFOQT) This exam is administered through the JBER-E Education and Training Office by appointment. To schedule a test, members must send an email request to edoffice@elmendorf.af.mil that includes the test requested and the last four of the member’s SSN. Study Materials: While no official study guide exists, many find an SAT study guide to be helpful. GED TESTING This exam is administered through the JBER-R Testing Center by appointment, 384-0961.
