What is GIS? GIS contains four subsystems:

‐ data input

‐ data storage and retrieval

‐ data manipulation and analysis

‐ data reporting

This course will provide an introduction to the fundamentals of GIS, with a special emphasis on integrating, analyzing, and presenting spatial information. This course will be a combination of lectures and hands-on labs. No previous GIS skills required.

Dr. Li joins us from her previous faculty position at Auburn University in Alabama.

She loves teaching and interacting with students. She was voted as 2014 Faculty

Superhero by Geography students at

Auburn University.
