Welland Public Library Administrative Assistant (Regular Part time, 23 hours/week) The Welland Public Library seeks an Administrative Assistant. Duties include, but are not limited to: Performs administrative duties including receiving mail, drafting correspondence and reports, taking notes at various meetings, booking and setting-up meeting rooms and equipment, records management (electronic and paper), and reception duties. Prepares the monthly Library Board meeting package; serves as secretary for all public meetings of the Library Board. Places and receives orders for office supplies. Processes bills and invoices in preparation for payment, and maintains accounts payable files. Maintains capital asset registers and records any additions, deletions and transfer of assets. Assists with cash floats, bank deposits, payroll, and other financial activities. Supports human resources functions as required. Education, Training and Experience: Post-secondary diploma or degree in business administration, human resources or accounting related field. Minimum of 3 years relevant administrative experience. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Computer skills (fast, accurate keyboard and data processing); proficient with Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Desktop Publishing. Ability to proofread for punctuation, spelling and grammar; excellent written and oral communication skills. Attention to detail and high level of accuracy. Knowledge of Accounting and HR functions. Demonstrated commitment to excellence in customer service; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the public and other employees. Ability to exercise tact, leadership and independent judgement. Starting Hourly Rate: $18.08 (under review), with a comprehensive benefit package (single coverage).
