VAP POSITION DEPARTMENT OF SOCIOLOGY, ANTHROPOLOGY, AND SOCIAL WORK TEXAS TECH UNIVERSITY The Department of Sociology, Anthropology, and Social Work at Texas Tech University invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor position in sociology for the Fall 2016 and Spring 2017 semesters. The department offers a B.A. and M.A. in sociology. Our primary interest is in candidates with a specialization in criminology. All areas of criminology will be considered; however, we have a particular interest in applicants who have expertise in international crime, global crime, or terrorism. The successful candidate will teach three courses in the fall, including US Criminal Justice System and Criminology, and four courses in the spring, including Sociology of Law and Policing and Criminology. Required qualifications include a Ph.D. in Sociology at the time of appointment plus evidence of excellent teaching. Texas Tech University is moving toward Tier One Research Status with a strong emphasis on expanded funded research and scholarly dissemination and continued commitment to undergraduate and graduate education.
