FACULTY VACANCY DEPARTMENT OF SOCIOLOGY, ANTHROPOLOGY, AND SOCIAL WORK TEXAS TECH UNIVERSITY The Department of Sociology, Anthropology, and Social Work at Texas Tech University invites applications for a tenure‐track Assistant Professor position in sociology for fall 2011. The department offers a B.A. and M.A. in sociology. Our primary interest is in candidates with specialization in theory, globalization, and qualitative research methods. Other areas are open; however, we would be particularly interested in applicants whose areas of expertise also include gender, medical sociology, and social organization. Required qualifications include a Ph.D. in Sociology at the time of appointment plus a strong potential for publishable scholarly research and excellent teaching. Faculty members are expected to pursue an active research agenda (grants and publications), deliver undergraduate and graduate courses, and meet service obligations. Texas Tech University is moving toward Tier One Research Status with a strong emphasis on expanded funded research and scholarly dissemination and continued commitment to undergraduate and graduate education.
