EXAMINATION POLICIES:
All exams will be multiple choice. The exams will be closed book, closed notes, and the students are required to do
their own work on the exams. Bring an orange scantron to each exam and a black lead pencil (#2 or softer).
Students will have a period of two weeks after the exam results are posted to examine their scantrons (in order to
challenge a grade).
Students absent on an exam day who have a legitimate excuse in accordance to school policy need to make
arrangements with me before that exam. Failure to comply will result in a zero for that exam. Those students
that comply will be given the opportunity to take a comprehensive make-up exam at the end of the semester.
Students who are absent for the comprehensive exam or the final exam will be given a makeup final exam at 50%
value.
QUIZ POLICIES:
All quizzes will be taken on-line and will be multiple choice.
Quizzes will be worth up 1/2% of your final grade and they are extra credit. Students will have a period of two
weeks after the quiz results are posted to challenge a grade. You will have two days to take the quizzes on-line
and it’s your responsibility to find out what happened during class, no makeup quizzes will be given regardless
of the reason for the absence. However, the student can make up each quiz by participating in a Rawls
Student Research Project (RSRP). You will be able to take up to 5 quizzes or RSRP credit combination. For
example, you can take all 5 quizzes OR 4 quizzes and 1 RSRP credit, OR 3 RSRP credits and 2 quizzes, etc.

ATTENDANCE: Required. Students are responsible for lecture notes, homework assignments and anything
that goes on in the classroom regardless of reason for absence. Make arrangements with fellow students who
are good note-takers to get class information in case you are unable to attend class. Office hours are for specific
questions and are not make-up lectures.
ILLNESS AND DEATH NOTIFICATION:
The Center of Campus Life is responsible for notifying the campus community of student illness, immediate family
death and/or student death. It is the student’s responsibility for missed class assignments and/or course work
during their absence.
HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENT POLICIES:
Please direct all homework questions to the TA’s.
Homework assignments must be submitted on time to be eligible for 100% credit. Students who submit assignments
up to 24 hours late will be eligible for 75% credit. Assignments will not be accepted if submitted 24 hours after
the deadline.
All homework assignments will be e-mailed to me. Always e-mail a copy of the assignment to yourself and make
sure that your e-mail account is accessible from my office in case I did not receive the homework. If I do not
receive a homework assignment that was submitted on time, students will have a period of one week after the
assignment grades are posted to show that the assignment was actually submitted on time.
Students are allowed to work with others on the assignments, but are not allowed to copy and paste the whole
assignment or parts of the assignment. This will be considered cheating (see below).
ACADEMIC HONESTY:
CHEATING (IN ANY FORM) WILL NOT BE TOLERATED. Students who cheat will be disciplined according to
the University policy.
You are expected to do your own work on the exams, quizzes and homework assignments. The minimum penalty
for anyone caught cheating on an assignment or an exam will be to lose all eligibility for extra credit for the
semester as well as any consideration on a borderline final grade at the end of the semester.
CIVILITY IN THE CLASSROOM:
Students are expected to maintain a classroom environment that is conductive to learning.
STUDENTS WITH DISABILITIES:
Any student who, because of a disability, may require special arrangements in order to meet the course requirements
should contact the instructor as soon as possible to make any necessary arrangements. Students should present
appropriate verification from Student Disability Services during the instructor’s office hours. Please note
instructors are not allowed to provide classroom accommodations to a student until appropriate verification from
Student Disability Services has been provided. For additional information, you may contact the Student
Disability Services office in 335 West Hall or 806-742-2405.
