Character Scrapbook Book Project Requirements □ Scrapbook Title Page The scrapbook title page should reflect the main setting of the story. The background should also include the character’s name, the title of the book, the author’s name, and your name. □ Pictures and Photographs Include a minimum of 2 pictures or photographs on your scrapbook page that reflect the themes of Roll of Thunder Hear My Cry. (Photos can be drawn, cut out of magazines, real pictures, or a print out from the Internet). You will also need to include a 1-2 sentence explanation that describes how these pictures are important to your character (typed or neatly handwritten). □ Souvenirs and Mementos Draw, create, collect, or find at least 4 souvenirs that your character would have put in a scrapbook. These objects should symbolize events in the story or important aspects of your character. The souvenirs/mementos need to be attached to the scrapbook page carefully, so they don’t fall off. You can place them in a small plastic bag if this is an easier way for you to display them. Include a 1 – 3 sentence explanation (typed or handwritten) next to each object describing its significance. □ Letter to a Character Write a letter to another character in the story that was important to your character. Include at least three important events that these characters would have remembered. You may write anything you like about these events. Just remember to write as though you are the character you chose. The letter should be neatly written or typed and needs to be 3 – 4 paragraphs. □ Spelling, Grammar, Punctuation, Neatness Make sure your spelling, grammar, and punctuation are correct and that the overall look of the scrapbook is creative and neatly constructed. Make sure you have re-read your sentences so they make sense and are written from your main character’s point of view.
