Rats…a two hour delay! This is what many Integrated V students exclaimed Sunday
night as they were disappointed in missing a moment of school due to a Saturday storm.
In fact the center of the storm passed through the SHHS parking lot at 7:00pm on
Saturday evening. The storm moved at a slow 5 miles per hour with no real change in the
rate at which the center moved across the country.

of the time since the center was on top of the parking lot. THINK: What would t = -1 represent?
b.) Make a sketch showing the storms distance from the SHHS parking lot as a function
of time.
c.) Write a rule for how to find the storms distance from SHHS as a function of t.
d.) When is the storm exactly 15 miles from the SHHS parking lot?
e.) When is the storm less than 15 miles from the SHHS parking lot?
f.) When is the storm greater than 15 miles from the SHHS parking lot?
