COUNTY OF BRUNSWICK
SOLID WASTE CONVENIENCE CENTER EQUIPMENT
TRIPLET CONVENIENCE CENTER

The County of Brunswick, Virginia, will accept bids until 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 2,
2010, for solid waste convenience center equipment delivered to the Triplet Solid Waste
Convenience Center located at 1877 Western Mill Road, Lawrenceville, VA. Bids are to be
delivered to Ms. Charlette T. Woolridge, Brunswick County Administrator, 102 Tobacco
Street, Lawrenceville, VA 23868.
Bids are to be in accordance with the attached specifications. The County of Brunswick, in
its sole discretion, shall determine if a vendor is qualified and acceptable.
Bidders should carefully examine the specifications and fully inform themselves as to all
conditions and matters which could in any way affect the cost thereof. Should a bidder find
discrepancies in, or omissions from, the specifications or invitation to bid, or should be in
doubt as to their meaning, he should notify the County and obtain clarification prior to
submitting any bids.
The bid price must include the cost of delivery to the site designated above, as the
successful bidder shall be responsible for such delivery. Such deliveries shall be made at
such time to such site and in such quantities as determined by the County.
The right is reserved, as the interest of the County may require, to revise or amend the
specifications prior to the date set for opening the bids. The opening date may be
postponed if deemed necessary by the County. Such revisions and amendments, if any,
will be announced by an addendum to the specifications.

Bids must be signed, sealed and received by the County prior to the date and time
specified. Facsimile bids will not be accepted. Bids by telephone or e-mail will not be
accepted.

The County reserves the right to reject any and all bids. The County reserves the right to
waive any technicalities in bids received, and to accept the bid which may best serve the
interest of the County.

GENERAL SPECIFICATIONS AND CONDITIONS
No bids may be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days from the date of the bid submittal
unless bid price was substantially lower than the other bids due solely to a mistake therein,
provided the bid was submitted in good faith and the mistake was a clerical mistake as
opposed to a judgment mistake.
A bidder seeking to withdraw a bid due to error shall submit to the County his original work
papers, documents and materials used in the preparation of the bid within one (1) day after
the date fixed for submission of the bids.
Bids are to include all costs. Bids are to include estimate of delivery date after the
successful bidder receives a notice to proceed by the County.

SOLID WASTE CONVENIENCE CENTER EQUIPMENT
SPECIFICATIONS
1 Single Phase Compactor - Stationary Compactor with guide rail.

Charge box capacity 4.0 cubic yards.

Clear top opening approximately 58” x 67.5” (no hood).

Single phase for 15 horse power (hp) electrical motor, 230 volts.

Key lock start with reverse. Hold to run type start button.

To be mounted at a location to be determined by County.

Remote pressure gauge on 15’ hydraulic hose. To be mounted
on face near key lock start.
Vendor shall be responsible for all mechanical/electrical hookups
required to make compactor operable. (Power will be provided within
eight (8) feet of side).
1 Forty (40) cubic yard octagon compactor container with:

Two fire ports on each side

Two Containment nets/diapers for compactor

Full gasket around door

Grease fittings on wheels and rollers
1 Thirty (30) cubic yard standard rectangle roll-off open top container
2 Twenty (20) cubic yard standard rectangle roll-off open top
containers
2 Twenty (20) cubic yard recycling bins with standard understructure.

Two lid openings per side (total of 4) approximately 24” x 24”
doors, no dividers, and locking lids.
7 Eight (8) yard front load heavy duty containers with lids (slant style)
All equipment to be painted dark green in color and delivered with doors
installed. Price to include all fees including, but not limited to, delivery
charges.
Bids must be received by 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 2, 2010. Bids will
be opened at 2:01 p.m. in the Office of the County Administrator.
