The County of Brunswick, Virginia will accept bids until 10:00 a.m., Monday, March 30,
2009, for Solid Waste Convenience Center Equipment delivered to the solid waste
convenience center located at the corner of Lew Jones Road and Lawyers Road in Alberta,
VA. Bids are to be delivered in care of Charlette T. Woolridge, Brunswick County
Administrator, 102 Tobacco Street, Lawrenceville, Virginia.
Bids are to be in accordance with the attached specifications. The County of Brunswick, in
its sole discretion, shall determine if a vendor is qualified and acceptable.
Bidders should carefully examine the specifications and fully inform themselves as to all
conditions and matters which could in any way affect the cost thereof. Should a bidder find
discrepancies in, or omissions from, the specifications or invitation to bid, or should be in
doubt as to their meaning, he should notify the County and obtain clarification prior to
submitting any bid.
The bid price must include the cost of delivery to any of the site designated above, as the
successful bidder shall be responsible for such delivery. Such deliveries shall be made at
such time to such site and in such quantities as determined by County.
The right is reserved, as the interest of the County may require, to revise or amend the
specifications prior to the date set for opening the bids. The opening date may be
postponed if deemed necessary by the County. Such revisions and amendments, if any,
will be announced by an addendum to the specifications.

Bids must be signed, sealed and received by the County prior to the opening time and date
specified. Bids by telephone, telegraph or facsimile will not be accepted.

The County reserves the right to reject any and all bids. The County reserves the right to
waive any informalities in bids received, and to accept the bid which may best serve the
interest of the County.

GENERAL SPECIFICATIONS AND CONDITIONS
WITHDRAWAL OF BID DUE TO ERROR:
No bids may be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days from the date of the bid opening
unless bid price was substantially lower than the other bids due solely to a mistake therein,
provided the bid was submitted in good faith and the mistake was a clerical mistake as
opposed to a judgment mistake.
A bidder seeking to withdraw a bid due to error shall submit to the County his original work
papers, documents and materials used in the preparation of the bid within one (1) day after
the date fixed for submission of the bids.
Bids are to include all costs. Bids are to include estimate of delivery date upon bidder
receiving notice to proceed.

Tri-volt, 3phase for 10 HP electrical motor
Key lock start with reverse. Hold to run type start button.
To be mounted at a location to be determined by County.
Remote pressure gauge on 15' hydraulic hose. To be
mounted on face near key lock start.

provided within eight (8) feet of compactor.)

Forty (40) cubic yard octagon compactor container with:
-Two fireports on each side
-Containment net/diaper for compactor plus one extra
as a spare (2)
-Full gasket around door
-Grease fittings on wheels and rollers

Thirty (30) cubic yard open top roll-off rectangle cans with
standard understructure.

Twenty (20) cubic yard open top roll-off rectangle cans with
standard understructure.

Twenty (20) cubic yard recycling bins with standard
understructure. Two lid openings per side (total of 4) Approx
24” x 24” doors, no dividers, and locking lids.
All equipment to be painted dark green in color. To be delivered with doors
installed.
Price to include all fees including, but not limited to, delivery charges.
Bids must be received by 10:00 a.m. on Monday, March 30, 2009. Bids will be
opened at 10:01 a.m. in the Office of the County Administrator.
